Inspired by Giacomo Leopardi – from the Italian Literature

Wondering in a beautiful garden, yet the grass I walk to dies.

The sun rays kiss me, yet the heat on my skin fries.

The happiness they show, I couldn’t see the outcome.

There’s only hope unfelt and helpless to become.

The eyes see the future, yet the future isn’t real.

The more you think about it, the more you couldn’t heal.

I hope someday my wish will come true.

Yet a wish is only a wish a man is dreaming to.

I’m just trying to interpret the point-of-view of a pessimistic person without trying to offend anyone. Thank you for reading! I hope you can feel the pessimism in this short poem that I wrote.
